Overview

Geovantage was appointed by Tronox as independent check surveyors on the Namakwa Sands site in the Western Cape. Our main job was to verify the accuracy of all concrete works and the installation of conveyor systems for the two main contractors, WBHO and Grinaker LTA.

Digital Levels: for precise elevation checks on concrete works
GNSS RTK System: for rapid, high-accuracy positioning across the site
Robotic Total Station: for precision alignment and measurement of conveyor structures

Outcome

All surveyed works met Tronox's quality specifications, which reduced rework and delays. Accuracy was held within millimetre tolerances, keeping the project on schedule and in line with the engineering requirements.
